General anaesthesia / fearful patients
General anaesthesia is preferably used for fearful patients, major surgical procedures (e. g. implants with the simultaneous tooth removal with/or without bone augmentation) and for the complete restoration of all teeth (grinding down of teeth and fillings). This allows the efficient performance of the procedure while being more comfortable for the patient. As well, the procedure-associated pain is generally reduced.

After the corresponding screening examination at the practice of the anaesthesiologist, the patient is required to come to our practice in a fasting status (i. e. no eating and smoking for 4-6 hours; small amounts of fluids are permitted).
The anaesthesiologist in cooperation with the nurse anaesthetist will introduce the anaesthesia directly in the specially prepared dental treatment room. The available equipment corresponds to the hospital standard.
